Our guide to Adelaide venue hire
One of Australia’s most delightful cities, Adelaide is definitely a great choice for an event. Rich in history, the downtown offers an easily navigated range of high-class event spaces. Don’t neglect the suburbs either, as they offer the choice of green and lush suburbs or the easy vibe of a waterside beach town - both reachable in less than an hour from the centre. For the adventurous, the nearby premier wine districts of Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale are just a quick trip away.
- Central Business District - Adelaide’s CBD is one square mile of the best the city has to offer. Packed with fine dining venues, pubs, and, to the north around Rundle and Hindley Sts, nightclubs. Be sure and check the CBD when hunting for event venues for parties, small weddings, summer parties or other social gatherings. Professional spaces are also thick on the ground here, with hotels, meeting rooms and conference centres in high supply.
- North Adelaide - Known for its museums and shopping district, North Adelaide also offers some great multicultural dining options, open-air pubs and grills with river views. This district is rich with historic venues and also densely packed with community halls, hotels, pavilions and sporting arenas making it an excellent choice for events requiring high capacity spaces such as weddings and conferences.
- Port Adelaide - This district of Greater Adelaide offers outdoor event spaces that take advantage of the beautiful landscape. Only, a half-hour northwest of downtown Adelaide, this area offers a quick escape from urban sprawl and the revivifying atmosphere of a waterside town. Check out St. Vincent St and around the A7, for the area’s many restaurants, hotels, pubs and nightclubs.
- Glenelg - A popular beachside suburb buzzing with energy, Glenelg is filled with hopping venues, especially around Jetty Road and Marina Pier. With event spaces designed to appeal to families, this is a great choice for occasions that require a kid-friendly atmosphere. You can even go one step further and take your party, wedding or social event outside. Many restaurants, cafes, and pubs here are equipped with outdoor seating and terraces, and some even offer a view of St Vincent Gulf. For more professional events, check out any of Glenelg’s many hotels for function spaces.
