Your Guide to Hiring Conference Venues in Brisbane

The type of conference venue you will choose depends on your vision for your corporate event and it is important to find a space that matches your expectations and budget. Here are some of the most prominent types of conference venues and the pricing you should expect:

  • Hotel conference rooms – Many hotels in Brisbane offer conference venues for hire which are usually well-equipped and offer in-house catering. One of the many pluses of hiring space in a hotel is that the staff is used to organising conferences and you will have one less detail to manage. Prices for this type of space range between $55$75 per person or $500$1600 of minimum spend.
  • Office spaces – Office buildings in Brisbane are highly modern and can provide you with all the technical equipment you might need for your conference. Usually, in one building, there are many spaces to choose from that can accommodate different amounts of people, so you are sure to find something that will suit your particular event. Prices for conference rooms in office buildings are around $570 – $2809 in hire fees.
  • Unusual venues – If you want to make a lasting impression with your conference, you can pick an untraditional venue for hire. Think cinemas, galleries, halls and spaces in the docks. It may demand more organisation from your side, but if it is something you enjoy, it is definitely worth it for the wow factor. The prices for these types of conference spaces range between $250 – $30000 in minimum spend.

Still, don't know where to look first? Here are some of our favourite locations for conference room hire in Brisbane:

  • Brisbane CBD – The central business district has many types of venues to offer, office buildings and hotels being the most prominent ones. With Central and Roma Street stations right around the corner, picking a spot for your conference in Brisbane CBD is smart if you want to keep it accessible for everyone. The CBD is also about 20-40 minutes from the Brisbane Airport, making it an easy commute for long-distance attendees.
  • South Brisbane – Just a short walk from the South Brisbane and South Bank stations, this district is home to many suitable conference venues. If you want to impress your guests, why not pick a venue on the riverbank? A beautiful view like that could make any event even more enjoyable.
  • Milton – In close proximity to Milton station and Milton Park, you can find an abundance of venues more on the nontraditional side. If your event type allows it, why not get a little creative?

FAQs about Conference Venues in Brisbane

How much does it cost to hire a conference venue in Brisbane?

The final price will mainly depend on the size of the conference. But other factors like the venue’s location and its status may also influence the costs. In Brisbane, you should expect to pay from $350 to $800+ per hour. For full buyouts, venues charge between  $1500 to  $4000+ per day, depending on the time of your event. Conference venues may also offer per-person packages which start from $75 per person. (All data from Tagvenue.com.)

Where in Brisbane should I look for a conference venue?

Your best bet would be looking in the Brisbane CBD area. The central core of the city draws businessmen with its modern feel, great transportation access and a wide range of hotels, conference centres and restaurants with private rooms that work as the ideal background for professional events. However, Southbank - the cultural heart of the city - is also worth considering as it offers superb conference hotels, art galleries, and museums that your guests can access easily after your event.

How early should I book a conference venue in Brisbane?

As soon as you’ve decided on a date and guest list! Here’s the thing: the earlier you start searching for a conference venue, the more options you’ll have to choose from. And this means that you’ll have better chances of securing the venue that suits all of your requirements. For big conferences for more than 100 people you should start browsing up to one year in advance while for smaller events around 6 months prior to the event. This will ensure that you’ll plan everything accordingly and have room for any setbacks.

Booked The Grand Hall at Ovolo The Valley
5.0
Everything about our event was EXCEPTIONAL !!!!! Firstly, we had 3 weeks to source a venue, with catering and fully staffed services for our event. The pre-planning: Adrianna left no stone unturned ! Every attention to detail was captured. All of my dealings with the Ovolo team were 5 star service !!! Nothing was too much trouble for Adrianna. Actual Event: Each of the three days ran smoothly. The lunches were just beautiful - not your typical cut sandwiches. Food was always cooked and served fresh daily with a great range of options. Catering for dietary requirements is going 'above and beyond' and was very much appreciated by the attendees. All of those little things add up to making our event such a success!! Everyone who attended sat in very clean, comfortable surroundings, were well catered for and satisfied with a wholesome filling meal and went home very happy. The venue was just gorgeous ... right from stepping into the foyer (very quirky and funky vibe) to being met with great smiling staff members !!! Who doesn't love a lolly station !!!!! The conference room is hidden and quiet with no foot traffic, noise or distractions. The food / catering is EXCEPTIONAL !!!! When you are attending a three day event ... you need quality, fresh, filling food that satisfies you and gets you through the day !!!! We were also offered a discounted rate in accommodation which is also amazing when packaging up this event !!!
