When hiring the Australian Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) studios for film, photography, or sound recording, it's essential to adhere to several key rules and guidelines:
1. Booking Process:
Advanced Booking: Studios must be booked in advance through AIAS studio management team.
Time Slots: Stick to the scheduled time slot. Late arrivals or extended usage without prior arrangement may incur additional fees or result in a penalty.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations should be made at least 24 in advance to avoid charges.
2. Studio Usage:
Cleanliness and Care: Users are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the studio. Any equipment used must be returned to its original condition and place after use.
No Unsupervised Use: For safety and security reasons, certain equipment and areas of the studio (e.g., lighting rigs or specialised sound booths) may require staff supervision.
3. Equipment Handling:
Proper Use: Only trained individuals are allowed to operate specialised equipment (cameras, soundboards, lighting setups). If training is needed, arrangements must be made in advance.
Damage Responsibility: The user is responsible for any damage caused to the equipment or studio space during their session and may be liable for repair or replacement costs.
4. Safety Guidelines:
Fire and Safety Regulations: All users must adhere to the AIAS fire and safety regulations, including the prohibition of smoking, open flames, or hazardous materials inside the studio.
Emergency Exits: Be aware of the location of emergency exits and protocols in case of an emergency.
5. Respect for Other Users:
Noise Control: Users must ensure that noise levels are kept to a minimum, especially in sound-sensitive areas. Soundproofing is provided, but excessive noise outside of the studio can disrupt others.
Prompt Exit: At the end of the booking period, users must vacate the studio promptly to allow the next booking to start on time.
