About this space

Howler runs a fully equipped l'acoustics array, with high ceiling and a generous amount of moving spots, beams, strobes and washes allowing for a full theatrical experience or presentation. Events can be seated or standing, from 30 to 400 guests.

In the years since Howler joined Melbourne's entertainment scene, the stage has hosted shows for Billie Eilish, Black Eyed Peas, Laufey The Killers and more recently North Carolina's Soul Legend Lee Fields, MJ Lenderman & The Wind, The Getaway Plan, The Beaches (LA), not to mention three massive sold out nights for homegrown stars Telenova.

THEATRE (maximum capacity: seated cabaret - 90, seated presentation - 220, standing - 400)
The Howler Theatre has been purpose-built for live performances, making it perfect for all types of events, from artistic and creative to social and corporate. Our intimate and beautiful performance and event space includes custom-designed sound and lighting that raise the bar for venue capabilities. Howler's theatre hire includes your own private bar, restrooms, and Melbourne's leading production technicians for an excellent audio and visual experience.

GARDEN AND INTERNAL BAR (maximum capacity: standing and seated - 300, standing - 400)
A lush garden oasis under a weather-proof glass atrium in the heart of urban Brunswick. Enjoy your event under the sun or stars. Full or sectioned-off hire is available, along with your own private garden bar service if desired. Our garden also offers production facilities for DJs, live music, speeches, and presentations.

From cocktail-style canapés to grazing tables, from morning tea to sit-down à la carte lunches and dinners, Howler is a versatile, multi-purpose venue and event space with a functions and events team ready to make your special occasion exactly what you are hoping for.
