About this space
UBQ Private Functions are held in the back of the venue with capacity for around 40 to 50 patrons standing, or 20 to 30 seated.
If you’re expecting more than 50 patrons, your private function will be considered as an event, there are different terms around this type of venue hire so please get in touch.
We require a minimum spend at the bar to hold your event at UBQ, this is typically $1000, however this may be negotiated at the time your private function is confirmed.
The bar minimum can be as an overall tab for your guests, or can be based on guest spend.
UBQ has partnered with some of Fitzroy & Collingwood’s most fabulous restaurants to provide catering for your event.
Just let us know if you want us to organise catering for you and what food you’re in the mood for, or you’re more than welcome to provide it yourself! We just ask that you don’t bring any home cooked items - this unfortunately includes cakes and desserts.
Just a heads up that we require seven days notice to organise catering.
We can organise drag performers, DJs and entertainment for you at an additional cost. Just let us know what you’re looking for.
Otherwise, holding your event on a Saturday night will include drag shows and DJs from approximately 10pm as part of our usual Vibe programming.
UBQ is fitted out with extensive audio, lighting and visual equipment. We can organise for there to be your own playlist out the back, please provide us with a Spotify link at least 48 hours prior to your function taking place.

Host rules
No booking fee applies to hire the room.
A minimum spend will apply for the hire of any space. This can be spent on anything involved in the hire, such as food catering and/or drinks. If guests of the function are buying their own drinks, it will also count towards the minimum spend.
A deposit of 10% will be taken to secure your booking. This will be credited back to the minimum spend after/during the event is completed unless there are damages to the room or extensive cleaning needs to be conducted.
In the event that COVID-19 restrictions prevent the event from occurring, a full refund or a change of dates will be given at no extra cost.
Food orders are required 7 days before your event.
Decorations are fine are long as they are cleaned afterward. We can provide bins for rubbish.
No Glitter is allowed.
We allow cakes. A knife, plates, and cutlery (if needed).
