We offer DIY freedom, allowing you to design and execute your dream event without breaking the bank. Bring your own vision, vendors, and personal touch to our prime Fitzroy location, situated in the heart of this vibrant suburb with easy access to the best Melbourne has to offer. The space is also a photographer's dream, bathed in stunning natural light, creating the perfect atmosphere for capturing unforgettable moments.
We comfortably accommodate up to seating for 80 guests, and offer 12 foldable trestle tables on wheels (162cm x 82cm) and 100 chairs are available upon request at no extra cost.
Elevate your experience with our optional add-ons. Choose to hire our audio or lighting equipment and let us handle the cleaning. Our fully equipped large kitchen, featuring an oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, and tea/coffee making facilities, is also available for all your catering needs. Add a touch of elegance with our grand piano, or use our projector and large screen TV on a stand for presentations.
Please note that setup, pack-down, and cleaning are the renter's responsibility, though we do offer cleaning services for an additional fee. Displayed rental fees are for private hirers; contact us for our special not-for-profit rates. A security deposit may be required depending on the nature of the event.
The venue is, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible. Enjoy three free parking spaces at the back, with additional paid parking nearby. We are easily accessible by public transport: tram routes 86 and 11 (10-15 minutes from CBD) and buses 200, 202, and 207.

No birthday parties in the 16-21 age bracket.
No smoking in the building.
No congregating outside the front past 11pm.
The courtyard must be cleared at 11pm.
Strict music cut off time due to the venue being located in a residential area. 10pm on weekdays and Sundays, 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
All information submitted by the hirer (ie purpose of the event, number of attendees) must be true and up to date. In the event where the hirer has submitted false or misleading information, The Russian House reserves the right to cancel the booking and no refund will be made to the hirer.
