The MCG Oval Room is one of our smaller room configurations in the Essendonians Function Centre. It the perfect destination to host your next conference or function. Located only minutes away from Melbourne Airport, the NEC Hangar, home of the Mighty Bombers, provides an ideal choice for any event or function type.
The multi-purpose space can cater for between 10 – 300 people and offers sweeping views of the expansive NEC Hangar facility and it’s two ovals - giving guests the chance to watch the team train, pending event and training schedule, through the floor to ceiling windows.
With a flexible room layout, the space offers a unique suite of facilities that can be configured to accommodate all types of events, from small conferences, meetings and workshops to intimate gatherings and larger cocktail parties.

The NEC Hangar provides a state of the art facility for elite professional sport, home to the Essendon Football Club and its five teams, across AFL, AFLW, VFL, VFLW and VWFL, while also sharing facilities with Western United Football Club and Paralympics Australia.
Located in Melbourne Airport, the NEC Hangar features two ovals, one the size of the MCG and one the size of Marvel Stadium, indoor training facilities, offices and the Essendonians Function Space. Also open to the public are the Club’s Glory and Fame Museum, Hall of Fame, Bomber Shop Merch store and Jack Jones Café.
With on-site parking and accessible access points, the NEC Hangar provides the perfect location for fans to come and watch training, colleagues to meet for a coffee and much more.
