For those looking to host a seated lunch event for 40-50 guests across a large rectangular table, the Grand Bar provides a sophisticated setting, although a $500 set-up fee is applicable for such occasions.
A Banquet style Event for up to 110 guests can be held in this space (additional costs apply for renting Banquet furniture).
It's important to note that the Grand Bar is not available for booking on Saturday nights.
Connected to the Grand Bar is the Chapel, a unique space characterized by stained glass windows, a long high-top table running down the center, and comfortable lounges. With banquette seating around the edge, the Chapel accommodates up to 60 guests for a stand-up style event, providing an intimate and inviting atmosphere.

About The Rawson
Housed in the iconic Rawson Institute for Seamen Building at 100 George St in the Rocks, The Rawson is a multi-level venue housing a restaurant, terrace overlooking the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Bar & Private Function Spaces.
With eight metre ceilings, large arched windows and floorboards throughout, the unique Grand Bar & Chapel can hold up to 300 guests (stand up) or p to 1209 guests sit down, for a Private Function. Mirar Bar on the top floor has a dancefloor & bar with two smaller breakout spaces & is perfect for up to 190 guests for an exclusive stand-up Function.
The Terrace, Conservatory & Restaurant can be joined for Functions of up to 200 guests.
For 21st Birthdays, these will be approved on a case by case basis, subject to a site inspection by the guest before confirming the booking. For 21st Birthdays, one security guard per 50 guests or part thereof is required at a cost of $300 per guard (pre-payable 7 days in advance). A Bond of $500 is also required to be pre-paid in case of any damage. This is refundable subject to a site check within 7 days post-Function. No minors permitted onsite after 9PM.
