About The Occidental
Dating back to 1850, The Occidental is a Victorian Regency Style Hotel and is the oldest building in Wynyard Square.
Strategically located in the CBD, The Occidental is one of the last five surviving hotels of this style and its foundations are now Heritage Listed.
Largely untouched until the 1970s, the hotel retained its original functions into the 1980s when three floors were adapted for use as a restaurant, a function room and accommodation rooms.
