Quaker Centre at Victoria Quaker Centre
Meeting Room in a Community Centre · Private space
About this space
The main meeting space is an irregular shape with a cupola roof, which has won architectural awards. The ambiance of the space inspires creativity and contemplation. The space is very flexible, from completely open through to lecture style or working tables. There is excellent WiFi, high air turnover air conditioning and a balcony with sliding doors.
A full kitchen and small dining area leads off the main room where you can prepare your own meals, have them catered, or simply make tea and coffee. All rubbish must be removed from the Centre by the Hirer.
There are many excellent cafes and restaurants in the area. Some of these will cater. Meals can also be served in the courtyard.
The courtyard is fully enclosed. It is a quirky space where you can enjoy fresh air or take refreshments. Access to the courtyard is via the back stairs.
There are two spaces that can be used as breakout rooms.
Accessibility is excellent. The space is wheelchair and walker accessible and the front door can be opened with a phone app.
As we are a Religious organisation, there is no Council rubbish collection, so all rubbish must be taken away by Hirers.
Prices
Equipment moved into the room must be returned. As we are a Religious organisation, we do not have rubbish collection from the Council, so all Hirers must remove rubbish from the Centre when they leave.

About Victoria Quaker Centre
The Victoria Quaker Centre is a two story renovated office building in West Melbourne. The upper story comprises an open meeting room that seats about fifty (eighty square metres), a small multipurpose room, a small dining area with self service tea and coffee facilities, and a kitchen with induction cooker, microwave, large fridge and dishwasher. There is a North facing balcony off the meeting room.
We are primarily interested in hiring out the entire upper floor on weekdays and Saturdays. There is a potential for regular hires.
The building has won a number of architectural awards.
Facilities include reverse cycle air conditioning with high fresh air turnover (Passivhaus standard), NBN backed WiFi, a large screen TV with ethernet connection, whiteboard and folding tables which allow the room to be set up in many different formats. Basic coffee, tea, sugar and long life milk are included.
Street parking is generally available and the Centre is within walking distance of Victoria Market. It is near public transport with the 57, 58 and 59 trams close by and Flagstaff station a short walk away through the Flagstaff Gardens.
