Great central location, super close to public transport with a tram stop outside the door, and well priced with the option to hire for the exact number of hours we needed, not full or half day only. Good for our budget to have the chance to bring our own catering.

Venue was great, big enough to cater for a big group or community.

There was no chiller in the room where we were serving alcohol. Parking is too squashy and hard for families with young kids to struggle to figure out that we have to come back to the hotel reception and find out that lift to the Rooms was different. Very bad experience. Our catering couldn’t bring food through the venue at via easy access. The whole entrance and exit to the venue was ridiculous. Apartment rooms were too small. We squeezed in with our families.

The Staff on site at Swanston were sweet and accomodating.

The process was mostly smooth, but some details in the post was misleading. On the hire page, it says that certain facilities are available with the venue, such as a projector. I needed to use a projector for my event and since there was no price listed to hire the projector and the manager I talked to as well said that there was a projector available to use, I paid for the venue. However, right after I paid for my venue, the manager contacted me saying that the projector was $100 to rent out. I would've have appreciated if this information was disclosed to me before I had booked the venue and before it became non-refundable. Greater transparency would be much more appreciated in the future. Thank you.
