Our beautiful Jade Water Pavilion is one of our most popular spaces for small functions and photoshoots due to its stunning outlook across both the Garden’s interior and the public Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Park next door.

Perfect for intimate gatherings of up to 20 people seating, this covered outdoor pavilion is perched atop our Jade Water pond right in the heart of the Garden. The Pavillion comes with Magnolia Courtyard that is a stunning space.

Host rules

Participants in indoor rental events of 50 or more participants and some in-person programming will be required to show proof of vaccination.
Because the safety and well-being of our staff and visitors is and always has been our priority, we will keep monitoring all Public Health Orders updates and will act accordingly.
The safety of our guests and staff is our utmost concern, and as such, the Garden is working diligently to comply with evolving public health regulations, and ask for your patience as we continue to improve and adapt our venue rental offerings.
Should your event be impacted by emerging public health regulations our Events team will work with you to ensure that you are informed of these changes and that all Federal, Provincial, and Municipal regulations are followed.
We understand that nobody can predict the future, and in the event that your rental must be postponed as a result of new public health guidelines, we are happy to offer complimentary date rescheduling. Please note, this offer is only applicable to those events that are required to be postponed, or reduced in size, as a result of direct public health guidelines forcing closure, or those restricting movement or the gathering of groups.
Special Events Liability insurance is required for all events. A copy of the policy must be given to the Event Manager 30 days prior to the event.
Alcoholic beverages are permitted with a Special Occasion License and Liquor Liability Insurance. Due to the natural stone floors and rockery, please note that red wine, red or orange beverages are not allowed in the Garden. A Special Occasion License may be obtained from any BC Liquor Store. A copy of the liquor license must be given to the Event Manager 30 days prior.
The Garden is a non-smoking facility. A smoking area outside the Garden is available upon request.
There are a limited number of rectangular tables available for a nominal fee, as well as red linens available for rent.

These gardens were always the sites of friends and family gatherings celebrating life’s milestones and designed to be enjoyed in all weather. The covered walkways and pavilions offer protection in case of rain with the sound of drops falling from the roof tiles adding another special dimension to your experience in the Garden. When the sun is shining, guests can explore all the and ginkgo trees.
