The options are pretty endless, so make sure to pick something that is all about you!

Crafting the Perfect 30th Birthday Party Itinerary

A 30th birthday marks a significant milestone, symbolising the dawn of a new decade filled with promise, growth, and adventures. Crafting the perfect itinerary for this celebration in London requires some creativity, personal touches, and strategic planning. But worry none, we’re here to tell you how to curate an unforgettable 30th birthday bash that resonates with the essence of the celebrant.

Pre-Party Warm-Up:

  • Time: Early Afternoon
  • Activity: Start with a relaxed pre-party activity that sets the tone for the day. Consider a private workshop, such as cocktail making or a painting class, allowing guests to mingle and get in the celebratory spirit.

The Birthday Bash:

Time: Evening

  • Location: Select a 30th birthday party venue that aligns with the birthday person’s style - how about a chic rooftop bar for panoramic views of the city, an elegant private dining room, or a pub known for its lively atmosphere? London offers a multitude of great options that can fit any idea you imagine.

Activities:

  • Welcome Drinks: Begin with a signature cocktail upon arrival, something that the birthday person will enjoy.
  • Memory Lane: Dedicate a moment to reminisce and celebrate their journey so far. A short, heartfelt video montage or a series of toasts from close friends and family can add emotional depth to the event.
  • Dinner and Dessert: Curate a menu that features favourite dishes or explores new culinary territories, ensuring dietary preferences are accommodated. The cutting of a thematic birthday cake can serve as the centrepiece of the evening!
  • Entertainment: Depending on the hired party venue and the celebrant's preferences, incorporate live music, a DJ, or a curated playlist to encourage dancing and revelry.

Late-Night Adventure:

  • Time: Post-Midnight
  • Activity: For guests who wish to continue the 30th birthday celebration, plan a late-night adventure. This could be a reserved booth in a trendy nightclub, a moonlit Thames river cruise, or an exclusive after-hours tour of a London landmark.

The Recovery Brunch:

  • Time: Late Morning
  • Location: Conclude the festivities with a laid-back recovery brunch in a serene setting, allowing guests to gather one last time and share stories from the night before. Opt for a venue with comforting foods, refreshing beverages, and perhaps an outdoor space to enjoy London’s scenery.

Tips for Seamless Execution:

  • Transportation: Ensure guests can easily navigate between venues by providing transport options or recommendations for public transit routes.
  • Communication: Create a digital itinerary, complete with timings, locations, and any necessary details, and share it with the guests ahead of time.
  • Personal Touches: Incorporate elements that reflect the birthday person's interests and milestones throughout the event, from customised decorations to themed activities.
  • Flexibility: While having a plan is crucial, remain adaptable and ready to adjust based on the group's energy and any unforeseen changes.

London offers fantastic spots for  celebrating the past three decades t. By crafting an exciting itinerary with close moments and spirited celebrations, you can create an unforgettable experience that marks this milestone in a truly special way!

Navigating Differing Dietary Preferences

Planning a menu that accommodates the diverse dietary preferences of your guests can seem a bit daunting, especially if you're hiring a 30th birthday restaurant and planning a dinner party. But fear not, with a bit of foresight, you can ensure that everyone's palate is pleased! Here’s how to deal with dietary preferences for your 30th birthday party in London.

Understanding Your Guests' Needs: Start with the basics by sending out RSVPs that inquire about dietary restrictions or preferences. This could include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut allergies, and any religious dietary laws. Getting a clear picture early on will make planning far smoother.

Collaborating with the Venue: Choose a venue in London that is flexible and experienced in catering to varied dietary preferences. Many London's venues are renowned for their adaptability, but it’s vital to discuss specifics upfront. Reach out directly to venues’ managers easily through Tagvenue.

  • Open Dialogue: Initiate a conversation with the venue's chef or catering manager. Provide them with the list of dietary requirements and ask about their experience and suggestions for accommodating these needs.
  • Tasting Sessions: If possible, arrange a tasting session. This will allow you to sample the alternatives and ensure they are up to par with the rest of the menu.

Crafting a Diverse Menu: With London’s rich selection of global cuisines, creating a menu that is both inclusive and delightful is easy as pie.

  • Universal Dishes: Opt for dishes that naturally cater to a wide range of dietary preferences, such as plant-based options that can also be gluten-free. Dishes like aubergine tagine or quinoa salad are not only inclusive but also add an interesting touch to your menu. Plus, most importantly, they are insanely tasty!
  • Customisable Options: Consider dishes that can be easily customised. For example, a taco bar where guests can choose their fillings can cater to meat-eaters, vegetarians, and vegans alike is a great option.
  • Clear Labelling: Ensure that all dishes are clearly labelled, indicating which are suitable for different dietary preferences. This small gesture goes a long way in making all your guests feel considered and taken care of.

Communicating with Guests: Keep your guests informed about the efforts you’re making to accommodate everyone’s dietary needs. This can be done through menu cards at the party, or a brief note in the invitation.

Dealing with Last-minute Dietary Requests: Despite the best-laid plans, last-minute dietary requests can pop up. Speak with your venue about having flexible options that can be quickly adapted. Simple dishes like vegetable stir-fries or pasta with a choice of sauce can be lifesavers in such situations.

Planning a 30th birthday party menu in London that accommodates various dietary preferences doesn’t have to be a source of stress. With the city's culinary diversity and a bit of planning, you can ensure a celebratory feast that leaves even the most demanding guests delighted! Remember, the key lies in early planning, clear communication, and choosing the right venue that shares your commitment to inclusivity!

When booking a venue for a 30th birthday bash, make sure to consider:

  • The location – No matter if you’re looking for something in Central London, South London, or on the city’s outskirts, make sure the location is accessible via public transportation or car. Otherwise, there’ll be lower attendance which may influence the party’s success. And we bet you’d like to have a fantastic bash!
  • The style of the venue – Are you after a local restaurant for a family dinner, a chic bar for cocktails with the girls or a laid-back garden? You need to match the venue’s decor to the party style you’re going for. It will be easier for you to plan out the space for activities you’ll have at the party.
  • Your budget - How much can you pay for the venue hire? If you don’t want to break the bank, ensure that the venue of your choice falls within your party budget. Thoroughly check the offers and ask venue managers about every charge before signing the contract to avoid additional fees.
  • Guest number - Remember to check if the venue has enough space for everyone to move comfortably.
  • Entertainment options – Ensure that you can have vendors, such as a DJ, a live band or an open bar at the venue before you book it. The venue may not allow it if they offer such vendors, or simply because of the lack of space.
  • Catering – Do you need a venue that can cater to special dietary requirements or allows external catering, etc.? Make sure to know your catering options as some venues, such as restaurants, may not allow you to hire an external caterer.
  • A plan B for bad weather conditions –  If you’re planning an outdoor bash in one of the gardens or rooftop terraces, this one’s for you! Ensure that the venue offers some alternatives, such as a roof or a tent and heaters in case of a sudden rain or temperature drop.

Now that you know the key elements to consider before hiring a venue, you’re ready to find your ideal 30th birthday party venue! So what are you waiting for? Hop on our platform and start planning your birthday bash now. Who knows – 30 could be your best year yet!

Booked Function Room at Islington Events Space | Public Space
4.2
I hosted my 30th birthday party for ~60 people at the Islington Function room and had a brilliant night! Susan, who I initially made the booking with, was a swift and detailed communicator. Once the booking was confirmed, she put me in touch with Sara, the event coordinator, who was there on the night of the party and helped me make all food and drink arrangements beforehand. Sara was incredible at the event! She worked tirelessly to ensure that things ran smoothly; from helping to set up the bar, and music system, to serving food from a pre-ordered menu, and all with a smile on her face. Luke, the CEO also offered a helping hand on the night! The whole team were very attentive, warm and friendly. The venue was already stunning, but it was extra special was to be able to decorate the room as I wished, and hire a DJ of my choice. I would absolutely recommend this venue.

I did my 30th birthday party with a bit over 50 people in the Colours Green Room and it could have not been better, we had an amazing night ! Communication with the venue ahead of the event was very smooth and they were very flexible and nice to accomodate the plan I had for the evening. On the night itself the venue manager and staff took care of everything, I didn't have to worry about a thing - from door security to the bar, to the technical setup for the DJ and to catering. Can highly recommend it for your party ! Thank you to the whole Colours team for making my birthday so special !

Both Lisa and Elina, the event space hosts were amazing throughout the process. They assisted with every detail, providing suggestions to meet our budget. They were both accommodating and flexible to our needs and requests throughout. Prior to the event they ensured all my question were answered and kept me updated on any developments. On the day, they assigned an event manager that enable us to set the room out how we discussed and accommodated any additional requests. I highly recommend the venue and could not thank Lisa and Elina enough.

Booked Basement at The Cutting Room

I actually had the ground floor to host my 30th birthday party at, but this was still perfect for what I wanted. I was able to create a playlist and play my own music. The room was set up exactly how I wanted it. I was able to put up decorations. The location was perfect for what I wanted and the value! If I have any future event, I'll be checking here 1st. The food was delicious - I chose food off the canapes menu and they didn't disappoint. I only ever heard positive things from my guests as well. I am so happy I stumbled across this venue to host my party.

Dimitri the event planner was so helpful and accommodating the whole way through. All of the rules and regulations were set out clearly from the first time we met and there was no messing around. The “white room” (pink room! Haha) was so beautiful and exactly what I wanted for my 30th. All of the staff were friendly and we just had the most amazing night from start to finish. He even made a slideshow for me that was displayed across the whole of the back wall. I would recommend everyone to have their party here.

Martha's Bar was the perfect setting for an intimate party of approximately 50 people; it had the privacy of it's own bar and everyone enjoyed the novelty of entering via bookcase! The pre-ordered food and drinks were great and prepared ready to be consumed as was early access to the venue which all helped for the smooth running of a memorable evening! Prior to the day, communications with the team at Tag Venue and The Washington were prompt and helpful which all helped ease the organising process! Many thanks to everyone involved.

Booked Upper Arch at SAMA Bankside

Amazing venue! I hired a space for my 30th birthday party and it couldn't have been more perfect. The minimum spend was really reasonable compared to other places I looked at and the bar itself is beautiful. We had the spot downstairs which was great as it meant some people could sit and chat in the back room while other people danced. Steve was the best host and all the bar staff were lovely. They made it feel really special. The cocktails are delicious and the music was amazing. My friends all really enjoyed themselves and all of them commented on what a nice venue it was. I had the best birthday there - I honestly couldn't have asked for anything more. 10/10. Would wholeheartedly recommend.
