Your Guide to Hiring Affordable Venues in East London

East London is one of the city’s most diverse areas, boasting an amazing and fantastic range of unique restaurants, markets, bars and entertainment venues. It's home to landmarks both historical and modern such as Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. Whether you're visiting the Columbia Road Flower Market or catching a movie at the art deco Castle Cinema, East London has something for everyone. From the famous Brick Lane and Columbia Road markets to hipster hotspots like Shoreditch, East London is a mecca for foodies, fashionistas and aesthetes alike. The area is a melting pot of cultures, where you can find everything from authentic Indian cuisine to traditional British pub food. And while East London has become gentrified over the years, it still retains its distinctive charm.

The city is home to a wide variety of venues, each with its own distinct character. From the classic to the quirky, East London has plenty of spaces that will provide your guests with an unforgettable experience. Finding the right venue can seem overwhelming, but we’re here to help you find the perfect space for your event.

How to find affordable venues in East London

Finding an affordable venue in East London shouldn't break the bank. Here are some tips to help you find a budget-friendly place:

  • Consider the size of the space. The venue should be large enough to accommodate your guests without feeling overcrowded. This means having enough space so everyone has enough room to move around, dance, and mingle. The rule of thumb is about 2-4 square meters per person, though this varies based on the type of event.
  • Find out which catering options are available. If you are going to have a catered event, you will need to decide what type of food and drink are within your budget. There may be options for cocktail parties, sit-down dinners and buffets. Compare these costs with other venues so that you can be sure that you’re getting the best deal.
  • Pick a venue that’s near public transportation or has ample parking. The place you consider should always be easily accessible. If you choose a venue that is close to a tube station, it will be easy for people from all over London to reach the venue.
  • Find out which amenities you want to be included. Consider the features that would make your guests feel most comfortable. This includes air conditioning, wireless internet access and storage spaces for bags and coats.
  • Check if there are any special policies for your guests. Find out if there are any restrictions on the type of music and entertainment you can provide. You may not be allowed to play your own music, or you may have a time at which you will need to turn the music off.

Beautiful karaoke booths - colourful, large, and so much fun! Loads of songs to choose from. Good seating space. We hired both rooms so we had so much space for our 22 guests, who all loved it. On top of that, the price was very reasonable. The staff were fantastic and served food all night very fast. There was a slight problem with one of the microphones which they fixed straight away. Great food too!

Such a unique and fun experience which is exactly what I was after for my 30th celebration dinner with 12 guests. Great location and easy to find in Camden. Miles allowed me to visit the boat before the event so I could plan how I wanted to decorate. We brought everything we needed including all food and drinks. We were lucky to have such a mild night in November so we had the roof off the whole night. Highly recommend if you're after something a little different.

This venue was PERFECT for my sister's hen do. We hired it for the day, and put a long table on the ground floor for food and hosted games/dancing up the stairs. Ruby was really helpful while we were setting up: my laptop didn't work with the HDMI cable for the projector, so she let us use her laptop - so kind. Everyone had a brilliant time. Thank you so much!

I would like to thank Carole for allowing me to have my special day at this really beautiful venue! We have created memories that will last a lifetime. Me and my wacky family have been pestering you for the last couple months bombarding you with questions and requirements for the ceremony during all types of unsociable hours and you handled us with such class! You gave us your time and made us feel important... for this I am humbled. In a place that is becoming increasingly more gentrified boathouse creative studios is a true community gem! A place that embraces a new Barking whilst keeping true to it's heritage. All for a price that is literally peanuts in comparison to the overall value. loosing my mother to cancer not too long ago my family has been overwhelmed with grief. This was the first day everyone cried happy tears and you were responsible for that Carole. I thank you for being a part of this beautiful journey. Love, Ali

Had my 40th party there and it was a great night. Easy from the start to organise everything; very sweet, professional, warm staff. The canapés were excellent, so tasty they came out hot, which is a rarity at events! The venue is just so warm and inviting, from the decor to lighting, was spot on. Loads of compliments from my friends...rather chuffed I found this place. Will definitely be back for another party. Thanks to all the staff and chefs for making it such a great evening

We organised a photoshoot for my choir here and it was the perfect venue. Christos and Evelyn couldn’t have gone to more trouble to help us before and during the booking and the room was well lit, clean and contained some great props and furniture to work with. We are a group of over 20 people, so it was great to have a separate waiting area with tea and coffee making facilities and space for everyone to eat and change.

The managers Jenine and Gerald were great; everything from communication to support on the day was friendly, helpful and on point. The space was excellent for what we needed and having the freedom to decorate it and rearrange furniture meant that we could really put our own stamp on it for our event.
