FAQs about Top Away Day Venues in London

Many different factors can affect the cost of hiring an away day venue in London, including location, capacity and the standard of the venue. The average price of an away day venue in London is approximately £250-£500 per session. However, if you expect large numbers of attendees (such as 100+), then hiring a spacious area will cost around £1000-£3000+ per session. (All data from Tagvenue.)

Away day venues in London are plentiful. From the city's famous landmarks to its hidden gems, there are many places to choose from when finding the perfect venue for your team's away day. Here are some of our top picks:

  • South Bank. The South Bank is one of London's most popular places, so it's no surprise that it also has some great venues for away days. In South Bank, you will find plenty of meeting rooms, and you can surely find the right one, whether you're looking for something modern or traditional. The South Bank is also home to some of London's best restaurants and bars, so your team will be spoilt for choice!
  • Shoreditch. This trendy part of London is perfect for those looking for something different. You can find plenty of quirky bars and great restaurants with a fantastic atmosphere. You can also book an away day package, which includes food and drink, or you can simply hire a meeting room. If you're looking for something a little different from the usual boardroom, Shoreditch is perfect!
  • West End. If you're looking for something a little more corporate, head to the West End. Plenty of great venues in this part of London have been specifically designed with away days in mind. The West End is one of the most expensive areas to rent a venue in, but you will definitely find a range of exciting options.

Remember that if you are looking for something close to central London, prices may be higher than if you were to host your event in a suburb or outer borough where venues tend to be cheaper. The venue's capacity will also impact the cost of hiring an away day venue in London. If your group is small or medium-sized, renting a larger space may not be worth the price. You should also be aware of the pricing options that venues have. Many event spaces charge by the hour, session, or per person, while others also operate on minimum spend, meaning that you have to spend a minimum amount of money on food, drink, and other services. When comparing prices and budgeting your event, this is definitely something to keep in mind. You should also consider whether you want to use in-house catering, hire an external caterer or bring your own (if the venue's policy allows it). In-house catering is often more expensive, but it can also be more convenient if you don’t have any experience running events.

Hiring an away day venue in London isn't only a change of scenery; it's about unlocking the full potential of your team! By stepping outside the office environment, you create a fresh space for creativity, collaboration, and team bonding. Away days offer a break from routine, fostering innovation and problem-solving in a relaxed setting. Plus, with London's huge range of fantastic venues, from tranquil outdoor spaces to versatile event halls, you can customise your gathering to perfectly suit your team's needs! So, why not inject some excitement into your next team-building day and see the positive impact it can have on morale and productivity?

The view of the Thames river looking north towards London is fantastic! We had an all-day 23 people team off-site and the room was perfect for this - lots of light and it felt open and fresh. The food was great too. Comments from the team have all been very positive. The staff, especially Justyna and Andrew, were super helpful and very professional. We would definitely use the venue again! Thank you Doggett's Coat and Badge!

I liked how central, yet how quiet it was. Nice to be near Old Street Tube, and have Shoreditch on our doortstep.

Booked The Bedouin Tent & Garden at St Ethelburga's Centre
5.0
It’s a lovely place. Such an ‘unexpected’ pleasure in the city. It’s relaxed, welcoming, unfussy, has everything you need and is a wonderful place to collect together and think away from the office. Nobody bothers you, but they are so helpful if you need them. I would recommend the venue without hesitation if you want a peaceful place full of character. We had a great day. Thank you so much.

Booked The Bedouin Tent & Garden at St Ethelburga's Centre

Excellent service and price considering we booked this only a few days before we needed it. A quirky little venue that was something different for our team meeting. Staff were very friendly and a good selection of teas and coffee was provided. Heating in the tent was very good considering it was cold day outside. We were also pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the price was.
