Here are three venues where the scenery is just as impressive as the food.

  • Thomas Doggett’s Bar at Doggett’s Coat and Badge sits right on the South Bank with panoramic views of the Thames. From the private terrace, you can see iconic landmarks like St Paul’s and the City skyline. The space fits up to 120 standing or 40 seated.

Why Choose a Restaurant Venue?

  • Unmatched Ambience – From cosy cafes to sleek rooftop dining spots, London’s restaurant venues have various settings to match your vibe.
  • Exceptional Cuisine – If it’s gourmet French, fresh sushi, or classic British fare, you’ll find a menu that suits your taste. Many venues also offer custom dining options.

How to Choose the Right Restaurant Venue in London

London has endless restaurant options, so focus on what matters most when booking.

Pick the Right Food

Choose a restaurant that matches your event. Go for fine dining if it’s a business dinner. Pick a casual spot for a birthday party dinner. London has everything from British pub food to French cuisine and Indian dishes.

Book the Right Size

For a small group and an exclusive event, book a private dining room.

  • For large events like weddings, hire the whole venue. Use Tagvenue’s filters to find a restaurant with the right capacity.

Choose an Easy Location

Pick a venue that’s simple for guests to reach. Check for nearby tube stations, bus stops, or train stations. If driving, look for parking options. For out-of-town guests, find a venue near an airport or major station.

Check Prices & Booking Rules

Many restaurants offer free venue hire if you meet a minimum spend on food and drinks. Some high-end places add service charges, so read the details before booking. Look for group deals or set menus to save money.

Know the Alcohol Rules

Some venues allow BYOB but may charge a corkage fee. Many restaurants have set alcohol serving hours, so check if there’s a cutoff time.

How to Hire a Restaurant Venue in London

Once you’ve found the right restaurant on Tagvenue, it’s time to book.

  • Set Your Budget – Plan how much to spend on venue hire, food, drinks, and extras like live music.
  • Talk to the Venue Manager – Explain your event details and check the booking terms. Ask about any extra fees.
  • Look for Discounts – Many restaurants offer cheaper rates for weekday bookings. Ask about special deals.
  • Plan the Dress Code – Keep it formal for weddings and upscale events. For casual gatherings, skip the dress code.

Easy communication with the team & quick response times Great venue, really flexible and accommodating. We were able to bring a small band in and also use their music system. The food was very tasty and variety which suited multiple dietary requirements. The staff on the night were lovely! Hugo (the new manager) even came in on his birthday to ensure the night ran smoothly! Will definitely use them again in the future for our events and recommend to others! We all had the best night, thank you so much!

The private party room is ideally located at the back away from the main restaurant with its own drinks service. We pre-paid for the meal and used their "Key" system so that coupe or families in our party could charge their drinks during the event to the Key account and settle their own bills at the end avoiding the need to apportion a large bill by who drank what. The staff were friendly and helpful, we were invited to a tasting event to try some of the food and wines on the menu for our event.

The managers of this venue were amazing to work with also! Very accommodating. Despite booking the private dining until 4.30, guests were allowed to stay until 6!

Booked Britain's Biggest Houseboat at Woolly Mammoth spaces (1)

The boat was beautifully decorated & furnished. The top deck was open & the terrace was perfect for our sit down evening meal. There were also plenty of smaller areas that individual groups could break off into to socialize. Booking & arranging the whole event was so simple with Jeremy, it was my first time leading an event of this scale so it was great to have his experience to hand. I would definitely recommend the boat & Jeremy ??

We held our small wedding reception here in July. They really made it easy to arrange everything, were easily contactable and responsive. They were accommodating about a friend coming earlier to bring the cake and we had not really given much direction about table settings and layout etc, but we're so happy with how it was done once we arrived. They had staff who were just looking after our room and so we felt well taken care of, topping up our drinks etc, checking we had everything we needed and very much felt like we had our own private section. Overall so happy and had the best day, would definitely recommend!
