About this space

Perfect for hosting meetings, intimate lunch/dinner functions, private parties or weddings, the 17th century Farmhouse is a charming setting for all this and more. The location is close to the idyllic walled garden and courtyard, both spaces are ideal for mingling and enjoying a pre-event drink. Up to 18 people can be seated in the dining room. Accommodation can be provided for up to six guests in the stylish bedrooms. The venue radiates a whimsical atmosphere in the summer months, whereas winter imbues it with a dramatic flair. No matter the season, it remains a beloved event venue that rightfully deserves the praise bestowed upon it by all who celebrate within its confines.

Event offers and packages

The iconic traditional Devon farmhouse is yours for the day and can accommodate up to 20 guests for the legal ceremony and celebratory meal afterwards. The day begins with a short tractor and trailer ride down to the farmhouse itself where the ceremony can take place indoors, or out in the adjacent walled garden in the warmer months. Guests are welcome to wander the gardens and smallholding at their leisure, and as well as having your own personal chef in the kitchen, your host will be on hand to make sure your glasses are topped up!

About River Cottage

Exclusively yours on your special day, the River Cottage allows you to relax in privacy, surrounded by the pastoral English countryside. The picturesque backdrop is perfect for a leisurely stroll and for capturing lasting memories with your chosen photographer. Two onsite locations are available for your unique reception. The Barn is an impressive, flexible space that can host up to 120 guests, depending on the reception style you have in mind. For parties with a guestlist of over 100, a marquee can be hired and erected in the verdant fields. A further 30 guests can be accommodated under a marquee located just outside the threshing barn.
