About this space
ShootSpace Studio is a brand new fully loaded open plan photography and film studio space in Bristol at The Paintworks. This 666 sq ft studio was custom built by product photographers with specialist equipment to hire as part of the day rates quoted. This space and included equipment is perfect to use for portraits, fashion, product shoots, music videos and all sorts of content creation.
You can shoot both ways in the space with a 9m (30ft) shooting depth to shoot against our 2.72m colour paper backgrounds including white and green screen options. We also feature a 6m wide brick wall for shooting against or hanging over extra wide backgrounds with a 7.5 metre shooting depth.
There is a matt black ceiling across the space for maximum lighting control. The height of the ceiling is approximately 3m (3.2m in some places and 2.8m in others).
This studio is a new industrial build with modern insulation so heats up or cools down extremely quickly with a top of the range HVAC unit.
The flooring is a neutral grey and solid epoxy floor for maximum stability. Overhead lighting consists of 9x 5600K LED strips and illuminate the space very well and can be turned off in rows of three.
There is natural light from the front windows but we wouldn't consider this an optimum space for natural light photography work. The windows are 2.5m high but not a huge amount of sunlight catches the unit as it faces East. The windows feature blackout blinds for full blackout and privacy.
The studio also features a monochrome kitchenette with large accessible WC suitable for changing.
Lighting setup and technician support can be provided upon enquiry.
Please note that although acoustically treated and mostly quiet, this space does not guarantee a perfect environment for sensitive sound recording. Short recordings should be fine but interviews and long form video recording is not advised.

About ShootSpace Studio
ShootSpace Studio is the new home of Zzzone Photography Studio (est 2014) at The Paintworks. The studio is ran by product photographer Jonny Green and has been custom built with lighting precision in mind for colour crucial photo and video work. You'll find the space to be equipped with more than what you'd expect from a studio hire and a very comfortable place to be.
The immediate surroundings of the Paintworks is buzzing with creativity and hosts some brilliant spaces to compliment your studio session. You can enjoy amazing coffee and pastries at just 30 seconds walk from us or Boca Bar if you can spare another 30 seconds.
Just a couple of minutes walk from us is the Royal Photographic Society and Martin Parr Foundation. There really isn’t a better place to visit for photographers and filmmakers!
