Weddings:
In the morning of your big day, the huge Bridal Suite will be available for you to get ready and watch arriving guests through large medieval windows. Afterwards, walk up the aisle from the manor house to the thatched oak-framed Gazebo for your outdoor ceremony witnessed by up to 120 guests. If you prefer to get married inside, a romantic room with exposed beams and a roaring inglenook fireplace will be waiting for you in the Castle.
Sign the register in the Dovecote Tower and be sure to take some photographs with the unique backdrop. Your wedding breakfast will be served in a marquee if you need a lot of space – up to 200 dining guests and 300 evening attendees can be accommodated there. Party on the dance floor under a purpose-built starlit ceiling and if you wish, use fireworks outdoors to make a loud statement of your love!

About The Castle Westenhanger
Become part of the Castle Westenhanger’s history, and make your dream wedding an exciting story to tell. Dating back to 1343, this Grade I listed manor house is one of the early quadrangular castles that were fortified to withstand a possible attack from France. Over the centuries, it served as King Henry VIII’s preferred party palace, Queen Elizabeth I’s “house in Westenhanger” and now one of Glow Events’ exclusive-use wedding and event venue.
Set your celebration in 14 acres of Kent countryside, among romantic ruins and castle turrets. Exchange heartfelt vows indoors or outdoors – whatever the weather, the Castle remains a perfect location for a fairytale wedding. If you need accommodation, plenty of options are available in Hythe.
The Castle Westenhanger lies on Stone Street in the small village of Westenhanger, featuring the now closed Folkestone Racecourse and served by a railway station. The nearest town is Hythe, and the Kent Downs AONB surrounds Westenhanger from 3 sides. The popular Port Lympne Reserve can be reached in 7 minutes by car from the Castle.
