The Vault at Box

Despite paying double the requested deposit, it felt like the venue was worried about being paid. I was initially told by the venue to just pay the deposit and the rest on the night. I actually paid double the requested deposit. Instead of this I got an email 2 days before with no invoice, to say I needed to pay another £800. I asked for invoice before paying and didn’t receive any reply. When arriving at the venue I was immediately chased, which was paid shortly after. As payment wasn’t received until the night it felt like the venue was really unprepared and unwilling to invest time until the balance was sorted. There wasn’t even a plate in the room, despite it being a buffet planned for 28 people and it felt like the food only started being made after payment. The food was also booked to come out at a certain time. I appreciate that a group of 28 is large, but it just came out sporadically for well over an hour and there wasn’t any organisation. Due to this and the limited bar range downstairs many people left the room to go upstairs and didn’t see most of the food. A lot of food was wasted. Our party also had some people with allergies and in my communication I was told this would all be sorted out started everything would be labelled. This didn’t happen and I had to chase several times. In the end I was having to log into a spreadsheet to see who had what allergy and run around the group saying don’t eat this/ that. I feel like I was really organised in getting all Information to the venue, but it was not reciprocated.
