About this space

The Churchill Room, as its name implies, is named after Sir Winston Churchill, and in honour of the Officers' Club of the same name which was housed in the room during WWII.

The Churchill Club funded the oak panelling of the room as a gesture of appreciation for the home away from home London House had given them whilst on leave in London. The room was opened by Churchill's daughter Mrs Christopher Soames in 1952.

This room can accommodate guests in a variety of styles, including boardroom, theater or something more informal.

Churchill Room

Designed by Sir Herbert Baker this classical room is accessed via a beautiful vestibule area also depicted below. It can accommodate up to 70 guests for a seated dinner.

Tucked away on leafy Mecklenburgh Square, Goodenough House is a Grade II* conference, event and wedding venue located in the heart of Bloomsbury. Formed by Frederick Goodenough in 1930 our postgraduate residence and educational trust has 8 unique and characterful spaces to choose from for your event. Centrally located in WC1 we are within easy walking distance of numeorus underground and mainline stations, with good accessibility from all London airports and Eurostar.
