About The Foundling Museum
Located in the heart of leafy Bloomsbury and overlooking Brunswick Square, the Foundling Museum can be exclusively yours for a memorable event. From lively drinks receptions and elegant dinner parties, to focused meetings and away days, the Museum blends historic charm with contemporary design in a tranquil spot in Central London.
The Foundling Museum tells the remarkable story of the Foundling Hospital, established in the eighteenth century by Thomas Coram to care for and educate London’s most vulnerable children. The artist William Hogarth and the composer George Frideric Handel played a big part in realising Coram’s vision. Together, they transformed the Hospital into the UK’s first public art gallery, and one of London’s most fashionable venues.
Situated within a Grade II-listed, Georgian style building, the Museum houses a wealth of treasures, including Handel’s will and part of his famous oratorio Messiah. Magnificent paintings from some of the most celebrated eighteenth-century artists are also displayed, including Hogarth’s The March of the Guards to Finchley, alongside sculpture, ceramics, furniture and decorative art.
Whether you are planning a wedding or a networking event, the Foundling Museum offers a selection of spaces in which to entertain your guests. With exclusive hire, your guests can enjoy full access to the Museum’s collection.
As a registered charity, all income from venue hire supports our work with marginalised and vulnerable children.
