About this space
Fancy hiring our beautiful roof garden at the Brunel Museum exclusively for you and up to 30 of your guests? Join us to celebrate your special occasion or simply to have a private, safe and exquisite outdoor space to while away a summer evening or afternoon.
We built the garden in 2012 as an oasis by the river where we invite you to cuddle up, watch the sun set surrounded by your friends, lovers and local wildlife. We specialise in lovingly prepared seasonal botanical cocktails using ingredients grown in our rooftop garden or foraged close by. The menu changes frequently based on what’s growing in the garden. Of course we have plenty of non-alcoholic options too. We carefully source all our local brews and distillations using Jensen’s gin, Hiver Honey Beer, Anspach & Hobday and Kernel Brewery. Our wine selection is also lovely.

About The Brunel Museum
The Brunel Museum is a much-loved museum in the London Borough of Southwark, celebrating the story of the building of the Thames Tunnel – the first tunnel under a river anywhere in the world.
The Brunel Museum is a much-loved museum in the London Borough of Southwark, celebrating the story of the building of the Thames Tunnel – the first tunnel under a river anywhere in the world.
The museum displays are housed within the Grade II listed engine house. The adjacent 15-metre deep tunnel shaft is Grade II*-listed. In 2016, it opened as a flexible space for performance, events and activities through the installation of a new staircase and entrance. These events are inspired by the historic use of the tunnel shaft (or Grand Entrance Hall as it was originally known) as an entertainment venue hosting concerts, banquets and fairs
The site of the tunnel shaft is available for venue hire for fashion shows, filming and photoshoots. The Brunel Museum is now offering a Covid-19 compliant hire opportunity of our tunnel shaft. This means that we can offer exclusive venue hire when we are closed to visitors.
