About this space
Please do NOT enquire about events with loud music or dancing!
The museum is on two floors and both are used for events. Often part of the event takes place on the ground floor (e.g. a reception or networking) whilst the first floor is used for a main event (e.g. a dinner, ceremony, or presentation). The first floor of the museum may be partly cleared to create a large open space beneath a fine Victorian timber roof, with a capacity of:
-120 for a dinner
-80 for a cabaret-style conference
-160 for a theatre-style presentation or awards ceremony
The brick walls lend themselves to decorative lighting to enhance an already fine room, with some museum exhibitions remaining on view. The opportunity to make use of the two floors for different parts of the event helps to enable guests to mix and mingle, and to enjoy different, but equally attractive surroundings for different parts of the occasion. There is access by lift for anyone who cannot use the stairs.
We offer a lot of flexibility. In addition to "dry hire" we offer a range of optional additional services including:
-furniture hire
-audio-visual equipment hire
-glassware hire
-logistics and bar staff (we don't serve food - ask a caterer to do that)
-ice delivery
-table covers
-tea/coffee services
-storage facilities before and after your event
All cleaning and putting-away at the end is automatically included.
No corkage charges.

About London Canal Museum
NOTE: Please do not use Tag Venue to enquire about events with music and dancing, or any events on Saturdays
The London Canal Museum is a fine waterside Victorian heritage building originally used to store imported ice. Although modified over the years, it retains an industrial heritage atmosphere to which modern amenities including air-conditioning have been added. Guests may arrive by boat as well as the excellent public transport available in the area.
There are two floors and both may be used for events. Surrounded by colourful exhibits of the canal age, networking and guest mingling is easy - there is plenty to talk about here so it is easy to start a conversation with a stranger! The two floors lend themselves perfectly to two-part events such as a presentation followed by networking drinks, or a drinks reception before a dinner. We also do launches, award ceremonies, corporate entertainment and if your event is bizarre and unusual we'll take it in our stride!
We host a variety of weekday events:
-In the evenings we host networking events, conferences, seminars, award ceremonies, dinners, and launch parties for up to 200 guests standing, 120 seated for a meal, or 160 for a conference.
-On Mondays the museum is available for daytime hire for conferences and other daytime functions
-Breakfast meetings ending by 10:00.
