About Colonel Saab
Restaurant Colonel Saab
Located at the former Holborn Town Hall in the heart of central London, Colonel Saab is a modern Indian restaurant from Roop Partap Choudhary, offering a smart all-day dining experience with a personal touch. Inspired by the travel tales, adventures and journeys across India he experienced with his parents, Army Officer Colonel Manbeer and Mrs. Binny Choudhary. Roop is thrilled to offer the sensory joys of Indian cuisine, cast in a beautiful new light.
Amidst the historic establishments and buildings of the Holborn locale, one can experience an evening in India. In addition to the restaurant's main space, Colonel Saab offers extraordinary opulent private dining rooms for up to 60 guests, with decor depicting details of interesting stories of India from days gone by, such as Maharaja Bhupinder Singh and his 900 wives. Guests can also hire the mezzanine which looks over the main restaurant and makes a great space for an intimate gathering for up to 30 people.
The extensive all-day menu, with dishes from around India, has been curated by one of India’s top food personalities, Karen Anand, and includes some of her signature dishes such as Confit of Cauliflower, Smoked Lamb Shank and Dosas. This is in addition to many regional Indian specialities which appear for the first time on an Indian restaurant menu in London; not to mention a Masala Dabba or spice box of cocktails based on Indian botanicals formulated by mixologist Antony Bertin.
With old-style Jazz music, museum worthy artworks and a modern twist on the flavours and textures and aromas of India, Colonel Saab provides a contemporary perspective with an old soul.
