The Orangery at Black Lion
About this space
An oasis of calm, set away from the honks of buses and trains of Hammersmith and Chiswick, bordering the Thames Walk this is a great riverside spot to while away time on a gorgeous heated terrace under the cover of a clearspan marquee.
The menu is very accessible with plenty of enjoyable British and European hits, but it’s the beautiful tree-filled garden that brings people here.

About Black Lion
The Black Lion is an iconic country pub on the north bank of the River Thames between Hammersmith and Chiswick. History abounds at this wonderful pub – ghost stories, local history and what ‘The Black Lion’ really meant, made famous in literature and the location of a world-famous skittle alley.
Our aim is to be a hub in the local community and a comfortable pitstop for any tourists or passers-by. Always warm and welcoming, The Black Lion combines the tradition of a classic English pub with superb English and British ale, lovely fresh food and a fabulous wine list. We all grew up and have lived in the area for many years and have known the pub as customers long before we became lucky enough to take over at the helm!
