About FormaHQ
FormaHQ is a unique modernist structure in a vibrant area of South London and located conveniently close to London Bridge station for those travelling from further afield. It is operated by the high profile visual arts commissioner and production company, Forma.
The eye-catching podium terrace was completely transformed from an old garage block in 2021 into a distinctive cultural hub for art, architecture and the environment. The light-filled frame now houses an event space, a breakout space, 5 artist studios, a café/bookshop, and a stunning rooftop garden.
The design was led by architects Sanchez Benton alongside the artist Gabriel Kuri and has received numerous accolades for its approach to sustainability, architectural retrofitting and biodiversity.
About Forma
Forma is a London-based contemporary arts organisation and charity that champions ideas and artists who address
the social and political questions of our times. Driven by artists and their ideas, we develop projects that
challenge existing practices, innovate in new forms of creative expression and achieve high levels of ambition. Forma nurtures artists’ creative vision and grow their ambition in order to develop career-defining projects that lead to awards, peer recognition and new national and international opportunities. Our extensive commitment for long-form professional development sees us work with artists from R&D, commissioning, partnership building, fundraising and production through to touring.
We work dynamically and in partnership with others. As a non-gallery-based organisation we have the freedom to experiment and support creative innovation, move between art forms and present our work within institutions, the public realm and online. Much of our work is devised with partners and touring in mind.
