About this space
The auditorium was built in 1858 as a grand space filled with glorious decorations. Today, after many years of dereliction, many of its original features remain such as its famous barley-twist columns and the original balcony plasterwork. It continues to be a stunning and atmospheric space for events.
The space also features a two-tiered wooden stage and a wooden raked floor in the Stalls.
The theatre seats come as standard creating a brilliant space for conferences, performances, and award ceremonies with a capacity of 374 across Stalls and Balcony.
The seats are not fixed and can be removed from both levels creating a large dancefloor in Stalls and a standing drinks reception area on the balcony.
