About this space

The whole venue has 2 distinct, but connected, spaces that are very versatile and can accommodate any type of event. The main space can seat approximately 80 guests, in a large open area with a clear line of site to everyone.

The back conservatory area is very bright, with lots of natural light and is perfect for an additional group of approximately 40 guests. It can also be used as a separate breakout space or area to have quiet conversations, away from the main party.

There are high ceilings throughout both of the spaces, with many original features of the historic building. The ambiance is warm and cozy during the evenings, whilst bright and open during the days.

Fully private events are also able to use our outside space consisting of casual seating for 24 guests.

The Duke is Britain's first organic pub/restaurant. Certified by the Soil Association since 1998 and still going strong.

We offer private dining in the heart of Islington, just a short walk from Angel Tube station.

The whole pub is available for private hire 7 days a week and can seat approximately 110 guests or a standing event of 150. Our restaurant, in the back conservatory, is available for hire Monday to Saturday and can seat 45 guests or 55 standing.

We are a short walk from Islington town hall and our dedicated reservations team can help you to plan your perfect wedding reception, no matter the size.

The pub and restaurant have a rustic, but elegant, ambiance that is perfect for anniversaries, corporate parties and events, birthday parties, christenings, wakes or just a special meal with friends and family.

The Duke takes transparency in the supply chain very seriously, and has well established relationships with independent suppliers who use the best organic and sustainable methods available. We have a stringent focus on seasonality, quality ingredients, high standards of animal welfare and a sourcing policy focused around regenerative farming techniques.
