Twice crowned the world’s best restaurant cocktail bar, Spitalfields Bar is a space with stories to tell. Hawksmoor’s original late-night venue embodies the attitude and character that makes Hawksmoor so unique.
Situated below our Hawksmoor Spitalfields restaurant, Spitalfields Bar takes the very best of Hawksmoor – the cocktails, the food, the hospitality, and the décor – to create an atmospheric, private-use space that makes for memorable events and gatherings. The legendary basement bar features vintage brass and mirror wall panelling, a copper-topped bar and generous leather booths set within the underground arches.
Spitalfields Bar can be hired for private functions, Christmas parties, launches or corporate events, with space to bring your own DJs or live music.
It is available to exclusively book 20-30 guests (seated) and 30-70 guests (standing) from Monday to Saturdays, daytime, and evening, and it has its own private entrance.
Our menus have been crafted with groups in mind – canapes and bowl food, sharing cuts and canapes that channel the very best of Hawksmoor menus – expect our dry-aged steaks, sustainable seafood from British coastlines, and carefully-sourced seasonal ingredients. Along with our award-winning cocktails, our wine team can also help select incredible wines that will pair perfectly with your event.
We can cater for vegetarians, or any other dietary requirements that you and your guests may have.
The room includes a portable 65 inch screen to for presentations or watch sporting events (Euros, World Cup etc).

About Hawksmoor Spitalfields
Hawksmoor was inspired by childhood memories of how good steak could taste. Founders Will Beckett and Huw Gott (friends since they were 11) opened the first Hawksmoor restaurant on Commercial Street in 2006; more restaurants in London, Manchester, Edinburgh and
New York followed.
Our menus revolve around using the best ingredients we can find and cooking them as simply as possible – whether it be beef from grass-fed native breed cattle, sustainable seafood from around the local coast, seasonal fruits and vegetables or great British cheeses, combined with great wines and interesting cocktails all served by people who love what they do.
A mere 2 minutes’ walk from Shoreditch High Street and 10 minutes’ walk from Liverpool Street, Old Street and Aldgate stations, Hawksmoor Spitalfields has 2 private spaces.
The Vesta Tilley Room is ideal for private hire for groups of up to 55. The space is perfect for team lunches, private dinners and other celebrations.
