Full Venue Hire at Hawksmoor Guildhall
About this space
This city branch of the much-loved steakhouse Hawksmoor can be found on Basinghall Street in what’s rumoured to be the world’s first steakhouse, which dates back to the early 18th century. Fast forward to the current day where it certifiably serves up high-quality British steaks to a well-heeled clientele amidst suitably glamorous interiors.
Hawksmoor Guildhall is one of the group’s largest operations, boasting a ginormous bar, dining hall and large private dining room decked out in true Hawksmoor attire – think burgundy leather seating and banquets, wood-panelled walls and parquet flooring.
The bar's capacity is 40 seated and 100 standing, whilst the dining room's capacity can accommodate up to 140 seated.
Luxurious surroundings are matched by a just-as-decadent menu. The events group menus are unmistakably Hawksmoor. We have created sharing menus featuring our favourite iconic and seasonal dishes at a range of prices to best suit your occasion.
Menus are all served family-style - with the steaks cooked to order, sliced and served in cast-iron skillets with our legendary sides and sauces. Sharing puddings complete the feast. You can also select additional items to enhance your meal, add a cocktail reception beforehand, after-dinner drinks, or even gifts for your guests to take home.
We also offer a curated selection of incredible wines to perfectly accompany your feast. You can bring your own wines for a corkage fee.
The menu is complimented by carefully selected wines, chosen by their own in-house sommelier.

About Hawksmoor Guildhall
Hawksmoor Guildhall is a stone’s throw from what may well have been the world’s first steakhouse, which went by the unlikely name of Dolly’s. If the story that it was given by Queen Anne to her favourite cook, Dorothy, is to be believed, she would have first stoked up the grill between 1702 and 1714.
Hawksmoor Guildhall is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
