The venue was absolutely perfect for our engagement party! Lyndsey was so flexible the entire evening, it was just her on the bar and did everything so efficiently. She let us play our own music in the room and the space itself was lovely. Many people complimented it! We were able to bring nibbles too which was great. I’d use the space again for an event for sure.
There perhaps could have been a deal on Prosecco bottles as we got a fair few and they weren’t cheap. We would have gotten more had there been a little discount for say 5 bottles you pay a bit less… but this isn’t a negative aspect of the night, more of a suggestion!

About The Newman Arms

Dating back to 1730, The Newman Arms is a gem of a pub in the heart of Fitzrovia, London. It has been frequented regularly by a number of famous characters over the years, including George Orwell and Dylan Thomas. George Orwell even based the “Proles” pub in his dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four on The Newman’s and it featured again in his Keep the Aspidistra Flying. The pub also featured in a scene in Michael Powell’s film Peeping Tom.

We serve over 10 draft beers on keg and cask, including a selection of Big Penny’s core beers, alongside a curated list of guest beers from some of the best breweries in the UK and beyond. We also serve signature cocktails, wines, spirits, soft drinks and low and no alcohol options from other artisan producers.
