The lavish Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite Galleries are versatile and an unparalleled event space in Manchester. An array of highly detailed, gloriously colourful paintings, designs and crafts are displayed within these stunning galleries.

The perfect location for pre dinner drinks or private drinks receptions for up to 300 guests.
Dining can take place in Galleries 9 and 10, with a capacity to seat up to 80.

Guests may also enjoy a guided tour of the vast collections and diverse temporary exhibitions.

Combining festive fun with timeless elegance, our exclusive party nights offer something a little bit different and can be tailored to suit your needs and budget. From the Victorian splendor of our historic galleries, evoking Christmas past, to our glass Atrium, which transforms in to a disco later on, our atmospheric venue offers a unique experience for your guests.
Where else can you drink and mingle in such magnificence, surrounded by some of the world’s most recognisable artworks then dance the night away to Christmas disco classics? In between, you can choose from a range of menus from canapés or bowl food to traditional festive three course meals.

Wedding ceremony and reception

Home to our collection of artworks by LS Lowry and Valette, Gallery 16 is a stunning and unique space for you to say your vows. After the ceremony, the lavish Pre-Raphaelite Galleries are available for exclusive use for your drinks reception and/or wedding breakfast.
Alternatively, the Atrium also makes a great space for your wedding breakfast or evening reception.

Venue hire from 4-11pm from £5,100 (inc vat). Includes ceremony room, drinks reception in Pre-Raphaelite Galleries, dinner in Pre-Raphaelite Galleries or Atrium, party in Atrium or Gallery Café

Wedding ceremony

Say 'I do' surrounded by world-famous artworks of LS Lowry or amongst the splendour of our Pre-Raphaelite Galleries. After the ceremony, you and your guests can move through the gallery to celebrate with a drinks reception and canapés.

With high ceilings, wooden floors, grand staircases, and traditional gallery spaces, Manchester Art Gallery offers a wide choice of visuals, combining the
neo-Greek style of the Entrance Hall with a contemporary Atrium constructed entirely from glass.

Filming can be accommodated outside gallery opening times: 10am - 5pm, Tuesday - Sunday.
Hire for filming includes access to all gallery spaces for the duration of the hire. Green rooms and crew catering can also be provided

We are located approx. one mile from Piccadilly train station and the nearest tram stop is just across the road at St Peters Square.
