About this space
At Big Shed photographic hire studio we aim to be both helpful and efficient, allowing your production to run as smoothly as possible, whilst also being an enjoyable experience. Big shed has all the usual facilities you would expect (and some you wouldn’t) from a professional studio space for hire.
Our Main Studio is 3,000 Sqft sound insulated with large L-shaped infinity cove, full blackout or Chromakey, rolling overhead shot gantry, pre-rigged lighting, makeup & wardrobe area and drive-in access. We also offer "The Cage" - A unique, purpose-built, moving facility for taking overhead shots with no obstructions.
Our Mezzanine Studio is just under 1,000 Sqft sound insulated with infinity cove, Chromakey option, makeup & wardrobe area with lift access for large or heavy equipment.
We also offer chill out areas for crew to relax or work in as well as a full list of suppliers to support all your needs from catering to set design, makeup & wardrobe.

The Big Shed is a photographers and cinematographers dream space. Established 2004 with 5,000 sq ft of studio facilities, it has become one of Manchester’s favourite creative spaces. Located minutes from Media City, Manchester city centre, the M60 motorway, and the Metrolink tram network.
Big Shed is the ideal space to shoot large sets, automotive photography, TV commercials, videos and dramatic overhead shots.
