The actual pub staff were all lovely and our dedicated bar man was great! Good sized room and had everything we needed.
Intitial contact when making the booking was very good but once booking was made it was very difficult to get hold of someone to ask questions (again, actual pub staff were great). Would have appreciated being able to set the room up earlier than the 10 minutes before but this wasn’t allowed despite being told no bookings before us.

Perfectly located just a stone’s throw from the high street in the heart of Oxford City Centre, St Aldates Tavern welcomes families, tourists, locals, students and dogs (preferably accompanied by their owners!)



We offer a great range of real ales and craft beers, plus an impressive choice of bottled beers, wines and spirits. Freshly cooked, homemade food is served every day, including a delicious array of specials.

With a selection of books, board games and all the TV sport you could want, St. Aldates is the perfect place to enjoy lunch, meet up with friends, hold a meeting or conference or just come and chat to the locals and the friendly team behind the bar. Our function room – the Blue Room – is home to a variety of regular events including all major sporting fixtures, meetings of the Oxford Lancers University AFC team, and monthly talks from Sci Bar and the Skeptics.
