About Foxcombe Hall
Foxcombe Hall was commissioned and built by the 8th Earl of Berkeley between 1898–1902 and designed by Sir Ernest George and Alfred Yeates.
Set amongst a forest woodland in Boars Hill, just 10 minutes from Oxford city centre, the building has taken on many uses throughout the years and is now Grade II listed thanks to its unique architecture. It has been a home to Lords, a theological college, served as an orthopedic hospital during WWII and most recently a university campus.
The main areas include The Great Hall, a grand, ornate dining hall with stained glass windows and a full length mezzaine; The Atrium, a space flooded with natural light from a glass ceiling, elegantly blending gothic and contemporary architecture; and the grounds, which comprise of manicured lawns alongside both Italian and crafts gardens, as well an expansive woodland, and private lake.
Today, Foxcombe Hall provides the perfect setting for weddings, allowing guests the flexibility to decide how they would like to use the space. This versatility creates a seamless transition from the ceremony to the cocktails and the reception in all weather conditions.
Its features, both indoors and outdoors, creating a stunning back drop and elevate the ambiance of the day.
