Tempest Anderson Hall is our largest event space. Up to 290 guests can watch presentations, lectures, and movies. If the purpose is to work or have fun, our stage, high-quality projection screen, and professional AV equipment, will ensure you have an amazing experience!
The Hall includes high ceilings and comfortable chairs, giving off an elegant vibe. It provides excellent acoustics, so speakers and audience can have an enjoyable experience.

Host rules
- Opening Hours & Access:
- York Museum Gardens are open to the public from 9 AM to 6 PM.
- After 6 PM, guests must use the Museum Street entrance, where a security guard will manage entry and exit.
- Marygate entrances are restricted due to licensing rules, except for mobility-impaired guests. Contact York Venues for arrangements.
- Prohibited Items & Decorations:
- No real candles or helium balloons inside the venue. Battery-operated candles are recommended.
- No pyrotechnics, including fireworks, sparklers, and sky lanterns.
- All decorations must be approved by the York Venues team in advance.
About Yorkshire Museum
The museum is a historic venue in the York Museum Gardens. The building is almost 200 years old and is full of history. Inside, the gallery is full of scientific and archaeological objects.
Our primary event space, Tempest Anderson Hall, provides professional AV equipment, making it ideal for lectures and screenings. The museum’s flexible layout also accommodates standing receptions, networking events, and smaller gatherings.
