How to plan a party in a private room

Budget: Your party’s budget should be at the top of your party planning agenda. Fortunately for you, bars with function rooms are one of the most affordable places to host a party. Being that they can accommodate almost any size of party, from 10 friends to 200 colleagues, you will be able to find a space that is right for you. One of the best ways to keep costs down is to look for a venue that charges on a minimum spend basis. Minimum spend venues are more affordable because you will get the space for free or with a small deposit and then will just be required to spend a certain amount of money on food and beverages.  Another affordable private room rental is to hire one on a dry hire basis.  These types of venues just provide the space. You are responsible for setting up all of the decorations and refreshments. This is ideal for small parties on a budget, but could be problematic for larger parties due to the logistics of having to organize caterers, getting tables, etc.

Attendance: After you set your budget, you should start preparing your invitations. In your invitations, requesting RSVPs are a must. This is the easiest way for you to keep track of who will be coming and who will not. Before you send out invitations and you are still picking your venue out, you estimate how many people will be attending. Once you have an estimate, then contact the venue manager and start planning. While the number of guests may change before the event, most venues should inform you about the capacity of the event space and the cost of your event, based on the number of expected guests. . Also, always make sure to inform your rented venue of the final group size before the event so the kitchens know how much food to cook and the bars can be properly stocked.

Types of Parties

  • Birthdays: Bars with private rooms are always a huge hit for birthdays. They are laid-back spaces where everyone can chill, have a few drinks, and celebrate. Bars with private rooms are perfect for celebrating any decade and 21st birthday parties for family and friends.
  • Graduations: When high school or college graduation season comes around, bars with private rooms are your friend. These spaces are great when there will be people coming and going throughout the course of your party, especially when there is a buffet. This way older members of the family can come early for a nice dinner or lunch, and friends of the graduate can come and go depending on how many parties they will have to attend that day.
  • Company Parties: Company parties can be a bit awkward from time to time. The best way to have everyone relax is to have a night out at a bar. When you are organizing one of these nights out, try and incorporate activities like karaoke or a quiz. These not only are fun, but they are great team building activities that get everyone involved from team leaders to the new guys.

Can I rent a private room for free?

This is by far one of the best options for hosting your party on a budget.

The waitstaff is normally paid on a gratuity basis for these parties, so the bar will add about a 20% gratuity fee with the total of your bill. You can confirm this amount with the staff before your event.

Can I hire outside catering for a bar with a private room?

Depending on the venue this is certainly an option. Most venues, however, will have onsite catering that will be easier and cheaper than looking for outside options. If the bar has a limited kitchen, then it is best to work with the venue manager to see if they have preferred caterers for your event.

One of the best neighborhoods of Seattle for bars is Capitol Hill. This is the epicenter of  Seattle’s nightlife and it offers easy access to hotels if your guests are coming in from out of town. Booked Event Space at Saigon Drip Cafe
5.0
Saigon Drip was the perfect venue for our event of approximately 35 people. They were extraordinarily priced and provided us with an evening that exceeded beyond our expectations. Staff: 100%. This team was excited and ready to help us throw the party we envisioned. They supported us in every way and went above and beyond to make their place feel like our home. They touched based continuously to see what they could do to help. For ex: coats were piling up on the seats and they graciously started storing jackets in their back like coat service. They were professional and responsible and treated everyone of our guests extremely well. Catering: Incredible food. I wish I could try everything on the menu. They were able to accommodate our gluten free request for one of the dishes and creatively came up with a charcuterie board. The layout and presentation of the food was so beautifully done. Amenities: Microphone with speaker - all set and ready to go. Speaker with bluetooth attachment for spotify - also they have their own youtube music you can play music from. Selfie picture booth. Plenty of seating with a huge buffet table in the center with chairs, and two modern large pic nic tables. The layout is perfect for a crowd to be sitting and standing. Coordination:
