Chicago is a town that is known for the performing arts. It’s also the home of some of the greatest blues performing artists that the world has ever seen, not to mention all of the other genres that grew out of Chicago’s rich blues history. Not only are there great venues all throughout the city, there are amazing rehearsal studios for new musicians and seasoned veterans to perfect their craft. Browse through Tagvenue’s list of practice spaces and studios and find the perfect place for you.
East Pilsen is the place to be when it comes to finding great rehearsal studios in the city. The area is easily accessible and locations there will have all the gear that you will need for a great practice session. Similarly, Chinatown has great options at affordable prices.
Some of our favorite rehearsal spaces in Chicago are:
Stonecutter Recording Studio – This is a great space with a rich heritage and all of the vintage gear that you can imagine. Not only is it great for rehearsing, but if you like the space, you will be able to record your next record here.
Miller Street Studios – Here you will find world-class acoustics to make sure you can hear every note of your rehearsal. It also offers a spacious live room that is great for practicing and recording alike.
The advantage of booking time in a rehearsal studio is that you do not have to lug all of that heavy music equipment around (save that for the gigs!). Rehearsal studios will come equipped with all of the basic necessities for a good practice session such as guitar and bass amps, drum shells (toms, bass drum, and stands), and also a PA system for vocals so you can get as close to a live sound as possible. This might vary from studio to studio, but these are the barebones basics that you can expect.
