How to make your wedding party unique

1. Have your reception at a venue that has multiple rooms so that you can move around if some guests want to mingle while others want to sit down and chat. It’s a great way to mix and match throughout the day, for your guests to do as they please, and to leave yourself some wiggle room if you want some time to get away either from dancing or drinking. 

2. Think outside the box when it comes to food. Do you want a sit-down dinner? Or do you want everyone to be able to walk around a little and get to know each other better? You can opt for different catering options, including buffet stations and even food trucks. If possible, try to find a venue that lets you bring in your own food and drink. This can save you a lot of money on your reception costs and may also mean that you'll have more variety than what's offered by most caterers. And if you’re opting for the catering that’s offered by the venue, you can always make the dessert options one of a kind. Have you thought about getting an ice cream truck that will serve dessert? It’s a great option if the wedding reception venue has a nice space outdoors for you to enjoy as well. 

3. While we’re on the subject of food, why not add a special touch to your wedding reception by serving food that is customized to your wedding theme? For example, if you're having a Hawaiian luau wedding, serve pineapple skewers as an hors d'oeuvre, or if it's a black tie affair, serve caviar on toast points. Keeping in mind the wedding themes, perhaps apart from food you could also customize some other things as well. For example, to personalize the menu for your guests, hand out menus with their names printed on them when they arrive at the reception. Why not get creative with fonts and colors?

4. Look for a venue with beautiful outdoor spaces as well as indoor options for guests who might not be able to handle sitting outdoors in Texas heat. The ideal venue will let you take advantage of both types of spaces during different parts of the event—for example, starting the ceremony indoors but then moving outside for cocktails after!

5. Find a venue that offers unique entertainment options like live music or DJ services, or maybe combine the music with the entertainment and get a DJ who’s also a magician, celebrity impersonator, or who does any other form of entertainment? Perhaps you’d like something more interactive, like an escape room or a photo booth? All these options are sure to make it easier for guests to enjoy themselves, and create a more fun atmosphere as they get to know each other. And if you’re not really a fan of those options, then perhaps opt for something low-key, like a photo booth where guests can get dressed up for photos. It would be a lovely way to remember the day, for sure!

6. Want to go all out and boujee? Have an ice sculpture created of your favorite picture from the engagement shoot, or have flowers made in the shape of your initials or those of your spouse-to-be. A little pricey? Perhaps. Does it include the wow factor that’s bound to make everyone fall in love with your classy style? 100%. 

7. Prepare a show or a dance for your spouse or your guests. Apart from the first dance, how about spicing it up as the evening approaches and preparing a unique show with your friends, or a funny dance with your spouse? Practice before the wedding, and have someone videotape the event. It’s bound to become a core memory!
