So how should you go about making your wedding venue, and your wedding party one-of-a-kind? After all, everyone wants to make their Big Day the one that people will remember the most. From what we have observed, there are a couple of trends and a few tips that might get you inspired. Want to find out what they are?
All things flowery. Who doesn’t love some gorgeous flower arrangements? But why settle for just a few, when you can go all in? Get yourself to the flower store and pick out the beautiful patterns and plants which will be a part of your wedding decoration. If you can, opt for plants which you can later put into pots, or even sell if you’re not interested in keeping them. If you happen to have a lovely garden, or a big balcony, some of them can be put there to remind you of the special day (remember that we’re still trying to be eco-friendly). And if having too much greenery is not your jam, but you still want a unique arrangement, then how about working with some unique colors and making the Big Day as bright as possible?
Vintage. A theme which is talked about a lot, but rarely done. It gives you the perfect chance to make your decor DIY and in a style that most people love (guests admiring every last detail guaranteed). Create a backdrop of your dreams, design the invitations, decorations, prepare the props and unique add-ons which will make you melt a little inside. It will be your something old and something new all rolled into one. Make sure to get a good photographer who will catch the moments perfectly. Social media worthy material has to be made! Here are some ideas to inspire you.
Bold and vibrant. Are you a fan of bright colors, but always associated weddings as more girly and pastel? Well, don’t feel the need to stick to the same old vibes - a vibrant wedding is one to knock everyone’s socks off. Stay away from the pastel greens, blues and pinks - go towards the bright reds, oranges and yellows. With these striking colors, mixed perhaps with some green plants and the beautiful garments of your guests, your party is bound to make a lasting impression.
Monochrome. If you’re not a huge fan of bold and bright, then perhaps a monochromatic theme will be more your style. Pair colors like white and brown, opt for yellow hues and dark gray details. You can also mix this up with some Bohemian decorations, and make sure the photographer understands the theme you are going for. Mix some industrial decorations with organic textures and watch the aesthetic come together.

With some unique wedding trends to try, you might also want to know what to actually look out for when renting a venue.
Booking a venue is no piece of cake, what should you remember before deciding on the final location? The most important aspect to decide at the very beginning is the amount you’re willing to pay for the event space. Work out your budget, and remember that you’re going to be spending money on all sorts of things as well. Some of the bigger costs will include the dress and the suit, decorations, food (if not included in the venue price), photographer, etc. Make sure to include all the potential fees in your budget before choosing how much to spend on the venue.
Talk it out with the manager, and decide if you’re up for a BYOB option (probably cheaper), or if you’re going to leave it all to the venue to take care of. Ask about the decor options, and what type of music you can play (do you want a DJ or a live band?). Are there any extra nuances you will be worrying about, perhaps accessibility options for any guests who might have trouble moving around inside? You might also want your pets to accompany you at the ceremony or reception - check which venues allow animals inside.
Remember to rent a venue quite some time in advance. Wedding venues are usually booked around a year before the Big Day. The more guests that you plan to invite and the bigger the venue, the better for you to think about renting earlier. If you’re having quite an intimate party, you might be able to rent around 6 months before.
We’ve chosen our two favorites. If you’re up for a totally original experience, then take a look at Boxwood Manor. Industrial features, a beautiful lounge, bride and grooms cottage and most importantly the location itself makes it a venue to remember. On the other hand, if you’re looking to rent something surrounded by nature then check out Entire Venue at Boxwood Manor. The chapel, the manor, the lawn … need we say more?
Wedding venues in Houston are of various capacities, but the biggest venue will fit up to 250 people. So if you’re planning to have a big wedding reception, we recommend that you check out Martinez Eventos. This fab event space is located in Inwood Place and starts with a rental fee of $2000 per session.
There’s a great spot right next to the Sky Sports Trampoline Park in Houston, and it is the The Social Avenue. With up to 50 people sitting and 80 standing, you can rent this spot for as little as $450 per session. The elegant room has fabulous decorations and lets you bring your own food and drinks.
