1. The signs posted for the private event were posted at 5:10pm and showed "private event from 6-9pm", I had rented the space from 5-9pm. This meant other patrons (at no fault of their own) were in our private space we rented and made for very uncomfortable interactions. It didn't seem that staff were able to control any of that, so I needed to. Staff corrected signs when I asked, but not sure why this wasn't prepared prior to my arrival.
2. the signs on the table said "Reserved for Alexander" which made me concerned that they double booked the space. It seemed the area was not prepared for my event I booked over 4 mo in advance.
3. The constant need to find staff to help us was frustrating. Not to mention anytime you go downstairs you end up needing to wait in the standard line to speak with someone, there was no one available it seemed for our specific party to help (potentially due lack of staff that the entire country has been dealing with since covid).
4. I had to seek out staff to help me approx 12 times throughout the night which took me away from the party for a good amount of time, since I needed to wait in lines with the regular patrons to be able to get assistance.
5. I wished the staff we booked with was there to oversee the party, the things we discussed were not honored onsite like the use of my music I brought. I spoke with staff and asked them to play my playlist in the area we rented (per the confirmation from the person I booked with) but they disregarded me and played their own playlist (which was totally fine) but the information I booked with lacked accuracy onsite.
6. The tap wristbands were constantly not working for us, with lack of direction upon arrival for my event I could not tell if this was normal or the systems were getting messed up because I had booked the open bar, but no one told me I would have to reboot the wrist bands every 30 min so that added a lot of confusion on how things operated, and a lot of waiting in line to speak with staff
I recommend to other to book this place because it is a great time, but if you have never been there before, I recommend ensuring that the staff who will be working during your event is aware of your event by calling the bar directly, NOT the person who booked the event for you online since they are not onsite when the event happens. It seems the communication online to book the event was not passed onto the actual staff who works the event.
Nothing was that big of a deal, I had a wonderful time, but had I known how much I needed to manage during the event knowing I had never been to a "pay per ounce" bar I would have arrived earlier and requested a detailed understanding of what was needed from me throughout the night. I spent a lot of time in line getting assistance for multiple things that if I never reached out, nothing would have been addressed. I probably spend a total of 45 min throughout the event speaking with staff about issues we were having.
Staff made it seem like the pay by ounce wrist bands were a "one stop shop" where I only needed to speak with staff at the start to get wristbands and end of the event to pay the total of the open bar but there was way too many questions with staff throughout the night and lack of information on how everything worked, and it seemed lack of preparation for my arrival. Nonetheless, the staff was excellent and kind to answer any questions, I just can't understand from a logistical standpoint how this info on how the pour by ounce worked was not presented to me prior to the start of the event.
If I had to offer suggestions for Pour Taproom events, a simple print out of how things worked, and "what to do" if tap wristbands stopped working, when food will be serviced, how taps worked, where to get glasses ect were written out. If I got this at the start of the event it would have led to a more seamless night rather than running around trying to find staff to help with situations I were not aware was expected.
I still don't know if their systems had crashed every 30 min or if this was normal thing (maybe due to GA alcohol consumption laws) which would have been helpful to know, knowing I booked an open bar.
Overall would definitely book again!!!!
