The Pullman Yards, located at 225 Rogers St NE, Atlanta, is a historic and vibrant venue on the edges of Kirkwood and Edgewood. Originally built in 1904 by Pratt Engineering for producing fertilizer bombs during WWI, the site later became pivotal in the development of liquid carbonated gases, eventually attracting the attention of The Coca-Cola Company. In 1926, the Pullman Company acquired and expanded the property, using it for the repair of passenger and cargo railcars, and becoming a significant employer of African American men known as Pullman Porters, who formed the nation’s first African American labor union, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters and Maids.
After a period of abandonment and use as a backdrop for local street artists and film productions, the site was purchased by Atomic Entertainment in 2017. This acquisition marked a new chapter for Pullman Yards, transforming it into a premier "entertainment destination of the south" and a hub for creative and cultural activities. The venue has since hosted major film and television productions, including "Hunger Games," "Fast and Furious," "Baby Driver," and "Bad Boys 3," solidifying its reputation in the entertainment industry.
Today, Pullman Yards is a bustling community space offering a range of attractions and events. Visitors can enjoy rotating exhibits, dine at two on-site restaurants, and explore Emory’s Science Gallery. With a family-friendly environment that welcomes dogs in outdoor areas, the venue promises fun and cultural enrichment for all ages. From music and games to educational experiences, Pullman Yards invites everyone to partake in the vibrant atmosphere and rich history it celebrates.
