About this space

The park is thoughtfully divided into three distinct areas: two impressive half-pipes—one painted in a rich forest green and the other showcasing a natural wood finish—and a sprawling street-style section complete with ramps, platforms, and a wall-ride area. The atmosphere is enhanced by an eclectic mix of surfaces, including exposed and painted brick, plywood, stickers, and vibrant wall art and graffiti that reflect the local skate culture.

Natural light floods the front section of the park through floor-to-ceiling windows, complemented by scattered skylights that create dramatic shafts of light throughout the space. These can be adjusted or flagged off as needed, providing flexible lighting options for photo and film shoots.

With its ground-floor location and easy street access, Substance Skatepark is ideal for events requiring smooth setup and teardown, allowing for seamless entry and exit for equipment and crew.

Substance Skatepark is a one-of-a-kind indoor skate park nestled in a raw, industrial warehouse in East Williamsburg, New York. With its gritty charm and urban aesthetic, this versatile space is more than just a skatepark—it’s a dynamic venue perfect for a wide range of activities, including film and photo shoots, video productions, events, parties, and more.

The park boasts 16-foot high ceilings, exposed brick walls, and a mix of cement floors and plywood details, giving it a rugged, authentic vibe. Featuring two built-in half-pipes—one in natural wood and the other painted in a striking green—alongside an array of skate ramps, boxes, and rails, it’s a skater’s paradise.

The walls are adorned with vibrant graffiti and artwork created by the community, adding an extra layer of character to the space.
