About Skyway Bowl
U.S. Army Veteran Johnnie Hill and his wife Mary joined the bowling industry in the late 1900s as co-manager/operators. With the purchase of Skyway Bowl in 2009, the couple became one of the first United States Bowling Congress (USBC) black-owned bowling establishments. Located in Chicago’s 10th Ward, Skyway Bowl is a haven for people of all walks of life.
For generations, bowlers have visited regularly to socialize, bowl, network, and entertain in a safe, family-friendly environment. Skyway remains committed to delivering top-notch bowling opportunities to bowlers-children, teens, adults, and seniors. Skyway Bowl offers 36-USBC regulation lanes, a pro shop, and a sports bar.
During bowling season, Skyway is home to competitive sanctioned adult leagues; and serves as the high school bowling hub for regional tournaments and practice facility for Chicago South Side High Schools to prepare for weekly seasonal competitions.
