About this space
This newly renovated private dining space was our former Italian restaurant called Cibo Matto and located on the second floor.
It has been transformed into the Gateway Room, an event space celebrating theWit’s location as State Street’s Gateway to the Loop with panoramic views of the Chicago skyline and river. It spans nearly 2,500 square feet and can accommodate attendees in a variety of set-ups including: up to 175 reception style; 27 U-Shape, 40 conference, 100 rounds, 50 classroom-2 per 6’ and 120 theater style.
The space has been updated with new finishes, lighting and the latest audio-visual features to allow you to customize your event with the newest technology. A floor-to-ceiling custom illuminated sculpture creates the illusion of a portal or gateway which makes a striking backdrop.
As a former restaurant it is equipped with a coat check room and private restrooms. The open kitchen concept creates an interactive experience with the Chefs food “a la minute”. The sleek new tables and handsome leather chairs are reconfigurable to meet the needs of your event.
Menu options vary from buffet, family style, reception stations, or plated dinner options.
