The Studio at Revival Studio LA
About this space
The control room has a very sleek and state of the art feel and look. Designed acoustically to playback tracks in a very true listening environment, mixing will surely be an enjoyable experience to the discerning ear. With a composer station running in parallel with the main Pro Tools rig via Dante, clients can run multiple workflows all in the same room.
Upon walking into the live room for the very first time, you immediately feel a buzz in the air. Maybe it’s the parquet tiles (the same ones at Abbey Road) or the classic 70s slanted wood panels along the walls, or perhaps given the fact that it was Maurice White’s (founder and lead singer Earth Wind & Fire) favorite tracking room for vocals, overdubs, drums and horns. The creative mojo within these walls is very apparent. Warm and punchy, anything you record in this room ends up sounding like a classic record.

About Revival Studio LA
Back in 1978, Earth Wind & Fire (EW&F) were on top of the world. In an unprecedented deal with Columbia/CBS, Maurice White (leader and visionary behind EW&F) setup his ARC label headquarters here, alongside state of the art recording rooms and rehearsal spaces, acoustically treated and designed to pin drop specifications by the legendary audio engineer George Massenburg.
Massenberg, EW&F’s principal engineer, established The Complex as his home base to build his prototype parametric EQ’s and compressors. His world famous GML consoles were designed and built here, with one still standing in Studio B, having never left the building, preserved as a landmark from that era. Countless records and hits were made within these walls.
Everyone from Prince, Quincy Jones, Lionel Ritchie, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, The Eagles, Neil Young, Weather Report, Deniece Williams and Barbra Streisand graced these walls with their presence. The feeling is palpable.
