Church of the Ascension is beautifully renovated Gothic Revival style church located in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Built in 1866, our recently updated sanctuary offers an exceptional venue for your special day.

With its stunning architecture and proximity to Manhattan, Church of the Ascension provides an enchanting backdrop for your event. The sanctuary spans 3,000 square feet and has been meticulously restored to harmoniously blend elegant original details with modern updates.

The soaring ceiling, blond hardwood floors, and exposed original stone walls add a touch of timeless beauty to the space. The open floor plan allows for versatility in planning your unforgettable gathering.

We have hosted weddings, receptions, concerts, dance performances, panel discussions and parties. The venue is handicapped accessable.

Wedding Offers

We offer a flexible and unique space to make you and your event stand out. We have a full caterers kitchen and prep room, a green room for space and we welcome all.
Wedding Ceremonies
$3000 minimum spend
Our Wedding Ceremonies package offers you a beautiful space to make your union official! This package inclues a 1 hour rehearsal session, up to 2 hours of set up time on the day of the wedding (including floral and other decorations), the ceremony and adequate time allocated for photographs and a special toast (if you are inclined). We will place chairs ahead of time to your specifications. Additional services include: church officiant ($600), day of wedding coordinator ($60 per hour, 3 hour minimum for ceremonies), and music.
Wedding Receptions
$5000 minimum spend
Our Wedding Receptions package includes up to 5 hours of rental of our space with additional hours available for $1,000/hr. Your reception time will include time for catering and decorating. Deliveries can happen outside this window with prior arrangement. A day of coordinator can be arranged for $60/hr, minimum of 5 hours.
Complete Wedding Package
$10000 total
The Complete Wedding package will give you all day access (up to 12 hours) for your ceremony and reception. Our stunning sanctuary can host your ceremony and be turned around to become a place to dine, dance and continue the celebration! Deliveries can happen outside this window with prior arrangement. A day of coordinator can be arranged for $60/hr, minimum of 5 hours.
Events Package
$1400 minimum spend
We host events such dinner parties, fund raisers, brand launch parties, celebrations, book events, flea markets, podcasts, comedy shows and more. Our sanctuary can hold up to 185 guests seated.

1. Outside Catering Welcome: You are welcome to bring in outside catering for your event. We understand the importance of having the perfect menu to suit your preferences.

2. Smoke-Free Environment: To maintain a clean and healthy atmosphere, we strictly enforce a no-smoking policy inside the building.

3. Guest Curfew at 9:30 PM: To be considerate of our neighbors and ensure a peaceful environment, we kindly ask all guests to conclude their celebrations and depart by 9:30 PM.

4. Respectful Use of Space: We take pride in offering a well-maintained venue for all events. We kindly request all guests to treat the space with care and respect, leaving it in the same condition as they found it.

5. Avoid Loitering: To maintain a safe and organized environment, we request that guests refrain from loitering in front of the building. Let's ensure smooth arrivals and departures for everyone.

6. A deposit is required on all bookings.

The staff at Ascension Church was extremely helpful and accommodating! The space was also very well maintained and in a centralized location so it was easy for the guests to find. I would highly recommend using this space for future events.
