About Outer Heaven
Nestled at 191 Chrystie Street in New York City, Outer Heaven is a bespoke cocktail lounge and microclub that seamlessly merges Japandi design with a deep appreciation for otaku culture. Founded by Jack Mulqueen, William Tigertt, Victor Houston, Tolga Dogan, Donte Mcguine, and Alex Smith, the space, designed by Montreal's Philip Hazan Design, offers a minimalist canvas for a heightened sensory experience.
With a nod to otaku culture, the venue showcases continuous sequential pieces from Katsuhira Otomo and additions from Hajime Sorayama. The auditory experience is curated by Nicolas Matar and Scott Ciungan, featuring a signature Monolith LED "skylight" inspired by James Turrell's art. Open six days a week, Outer Heaven's music programming transitions from curated beats in the evening to dynamic DJ sets on weekends.
At the heart of Outer Heaven's identity are three beverage pillars – Mezcal, Sake, and Orange Wine. Crafted by Alex Smith, the cocktail program spans from light and floral to heartier savory options, complemented by zero-proof alternatives and warm winter concoctions. Outer Heaven stands as a microclub that transcends boundaries, offering an unforgettable sensory journey in the heart of New York City.
