About this space
Wally’s Hydeout is a world-class production studio that’s well-equipped for recording or mixing projects of any size.
Our control room is centered around an extensive collection of outboard preamps (we love our 10-channel Capi rack) and Pro Tools rig, with a C24 control surface/console.
Our large tracking room is regarded as one of the best drum-tracking spaces in the Bay Area, with tall ceilings and a high level of control over room characteristics. it’s a dream for live band tracking — bleed or no bleed. A single mid-sized isolation booth completes the space.

About Wally’s HydeOut
Located in the historic “Hyde Street Studio C”. A sanctuary for recording and music production - since 1969.
There are a lot of stories surrounding Wally’s Hydeout (the legendary Studio C of Wally Heider Studios), many of them true, many of them impossible to confirm.
We know for sure that it was the first modern studio in San Francisco and the brainchild of legendary engineers Wally Heider and Bill Putnam.
